Life knocks, not only once, at times repeatedly, perhaps we act as deaf soul.
Travelling in an auto in the industrial town one day, I saw an old man who could hardly cross the road to pick and settle himself in the seat opposite me unintentionally bumped against a teen girl sitting on his side who hardly made any effort to give space to him, a shady smile on her face and her friend sitting opposite to her made me bit uncomfortable, thought for a moment pierced my head with shrieking hollowness, why these girls smiled, its for sure that the old man had no intention to act nasty at his age and that moment, then, I thought may be the upbringing of the girls have missed the basic chapter of love for elders, warmness in relations and a revelation that, we all are getting old too.
Father, mother, parents and then old man, old woman, a transition of how we spell our relations are at time can make one's heart bleed, but, we tend to ignore, know why, because, we are busy, busy with what, making career, wedding, family, children then their care, their education, a never ending engagements, and amid this we forget, where we started from, the old man, old woman today, were our favourites few years back, who not only brought us on this world, our basic existence but also gave their time, love, affection, true though, the care they took might have some motives but then this is being a family, that's how we humans are - expectations.
Debatable, but, one thing is for sure, that some where our equation of life's meaning is not being made clear to our children, we must understand and make them understand too, that age is something which is going to defy everything, what is today, shall be yesterday, then why not think about tomorrow.
A lesson of love, affection and attachment with our parents should be compulsory subject in every family values taught with high esteem every where. A visit to nanny's house a chat with grand pa, taking care of parents as they get old and at the same time involving our children will make them understand the life's essence, existence and relations.
Our children need to understand its importance, expectations among family members at time is not wasted emotions, its rather binding force and life saving drug that works well with the oldies, a love shared with elders will reap its results tomorrow.
No body wants to live alone, true, no body wants to die alone, that's true too, before you get old, just think !

An eye for an eye - eye opener
A flash back glimpse of my convent school home work diary, remind me of the first page with bold sayings, "Man is master of his will and captain of his soul" and below it, "God give me courage to change the person. And wisdom to understand, whom I can and whom I can not". Today decades later, like 'A' of my English lessons it replenish 'Z' of my hunger for hearty bliss.
We, being 'Parent Captain' are for sure responsible for our kids, we must put efforts and wisely cater their upbringing spiritually in the shade of materialistic world. An eye for an eye and world shall be blind is aptly suited with mad rush genre today, nobody has time to spare emotions or forgiveness to life happening around us. If a rickshaw walla paddles his vehicle between the line, an ostrich neck would stretch out from a car with best possible abusive music for poor chap who will hardly understand what went wrong. A shaken lady walking on road will fetch many guys jump to hold her from falling down but an aged man or woman fallen or fainted may be ignored for paucity of time. The warmness among us seems to have evaporated, anger, frustration has taken its place and forgiveness is distant thought.
Baba Farid a great Sufi saint of his time, has privilege of having his verses reproduced in Sikh preachings chants, that "farida do good for someone who tries doing bad for you", wonder why no one remembers what Nathuram Godse expressed before he killed Gandhi. The legendary three monkeys depicting don't talk , don't listen and don't see - that hurts, makes no sense today, but, the chemistry of Gandhi's thought apparently a fizzled cracker do makes its loud presence in today's world of rat race. We tend to forget that we need to be lion in this race, for even if we loose the run, we still will be lion at the end of the day.
We should make this world a better place to live, our children should learn that its not the race for perfection rather achievement for best blended soul that matters in life. While pruning our kids we must make sure either to convince them or get convinced because there is no logic beyond this that shall work, and, should also remember that being a mentor we are a part of generation leap for which our kids are just exposed to and without tasting it's pitfall they shall not agree with us blind folded. Most important for them is to understand, warmness, spiritualism, forgiveness by remaining attached to our roots.
A tree blossoms and bear fruits naturally bends down, nature inspire bowing, forgiveness is nectar that will spread sweetness. Love has achieved for centuries, it shall continue to achieve for centuries to come, nothing has replaced it nothing can, this is eternal truth, this is eternal bliss.
